M. Alioune Camara

M. Alioune Camara is since 2005 CEO of Banque Régionale de Marchés (BRM), the first banking institution in the UEMOA zone, specialized by strategic choice in merchant banks and markets activities through a personalized approach based on permanent research of global solutions related to real management problems.
With 22 years of experience in banking and international financial markets and over 10 years spent in major banks in Paris, M. Camara was research engineer, trader and arbitrageur in Credit Agricole Indosuez Group, and head of bonds and derivatives desk in Banque Bruxelles-Lambert where he developed expertise in arbitrage, trading and investment banking and dealt with complex financial products (bonds, futures & options, cap & floors, asset-swaps and asset-backed securities etc.).
After two years spent in the African Development Bank as a portfolio manager, he joined the Ecobank Group in 1999 where he was Treasury and Financial Institutions Group Head. Mr. Camara was a Director of several Ecobank Group subsidiaries and ran the Group’s training seminars in Treasury management and Asset & Liability Management (ALM).
In 2005, as promoter of the bank, he managed to raise funds from local insurance companies and other reputable institutions and created the first financial institution licensed as an investment bank in the WAEMU zone.
Mr. Camara is a statistician engineer and actuary graduated in Paris (ISUP). He holds 2 post-graduate degrees (DEA) in Applied Mathematics and in Money and Finance.
