M. Obi Ugochuku

Mr. Obi Ugochuku, Managing Partner, GCA Capital Partners, is also co-founder/Product Lead for BroadStreetLagos.Com (a website launched in March 2009 and designed to provide structured capital markets data and analytics in a demandable format to guide investors, regulators, pension fund managers and market operators). Until May 2008, he was on secondment from The World Bank as Adviser for State Economic and Empowerment Development Strategies (SEEDS) with the State and Local Government Program (SLGP), a DfID-funded governance program based in Abuja, Nigeria (UK Department for International Development). He is an associate of Nigeria’s Chartered Institute of Stockbrokers (CIS), qualifying in May 1990 and a consultant on public and financial sector reform.
Mr. Ugochuku has a Bsc in Finance from the University of Nigeria, Nsukka ’87 and an MBA from Wayne State University in Detroit USA ’92. He worked for Center Point Merchant Bank, Lagos between 1987 and 1990. Between 1992 and 2004 he worked with the International Finance Corporation (IFC) for seven years covering Asia Capital Markets & East and Southern Africa SMEs/FMCGs at different times. He subsequently worked with the World Bank’s Global Environment Facility (GEF) as Financial Officer for five years. There he led a restructuring of the GEFs financial reporting platform covering over 1,000 trust funds. The GEF was the World Bank’s largest trust fund at the time at over USD2.6 billion. He is a citizen of Nigeria.
