Richard Arlove is the Chief Executive Officer and a director of Abax Corporate Services, an international corporate administration and advisory services provider with offices in Mauritius, Bahrain, Dubai and Australia.
Abax (www.abaxservices.com) provides corporate structuring, formation and administration services to entities involved in cross-border transactions, including multinationals and funds that use Mauritius and other international financial centres to structure their investments in emerging markets, including India, China and Africa. With a professional staff of nearly 150 comprising mostly of certified accountants and chartered secretaries and administrators, Abax currently administers client assets totaling 14 billion USD, a significant proportion of which relate to Private Equity funds. In Mauritius where the firm is headquartered, Abax operates as a Management Company licensed and regulated by the Financial Services Commission. A majority of Abax client companies operate in the Mauritius co-called Global Business sector and are also regulated by the Financial Services Commission of Mauritius.
Richard also acts as director and chair on the board of several client companies investing in real estate, financial services, information and communication technology, energy, mining, transport, infrastructure, media and entertainment in many of the world’s emerging markets. Many of these companies are subsidiaries to large multinationals listed on stock exchanges in US, UK, South Africa, Kenya, India, China, Singapore and Mauritius. Richard also has director experience on a large number of Private Equity funds and has served on the board of a leading provider of life and general insurance in Mauritius. He is also a member and chairperson on a number of audit and corporate governance committees.
Richard has thirty years of professional experience. Prior to joining Abax in 2001, he worked for ten years in the accounting profession in Mauritius and United Kingdom, mainly at Price Waterhouse. He has also occupied general management positions with a large Mauritian conglomerate involved in the marketing of international brands and with a satellite TV operator.
Richard is a Fellow member of the UK Association of Chartered Certified Accountants (FCCA).
He is a citizen of the Republic of Mauritius. He is fluent in English and French.
