Job description: Accounting and Office Assistant at AFIG Funds

 

Summary of Positions

  • Permanent contract as an Accounting and Office Assistant at AFIG Funds, in Dakar Senegal

  • Start date : July 16, 2018

 

Supervisor : Chief Operating Officer

 

Candidate Profile

  • Master 2 in Finance and / or Accounting or equivalent qualification

  • Mastery of OHADA system

  • At least 2 years’ experience in Administration services and/or Accounting including trainings

  • Familiarity with Microsoft Office and Excel in particular

  • Strong interpersonal skills both internally with the team and externally with the service providers

Responsibilities

Provide support to the Chief Accountant in the following areas:

  • Post accounting entries and reconcile third party book balances

  • Record expense reports

  • Check, record and pay supplier invoices

  • Analyze missing invoices versus orders

  • Update assets register and reconcile with capital entries

  • Prepare monthly bank reconciliations

  • Complete year of end inventory entries

  • Participate in monthly or quarterly closings

  • Assist with preparation of reports and financial statements

  • Draft monthly, quarterly and annual social and tax declarations

Provide support to the Office Manager in the following areas:

  • Oversee the day-to-day functioning of the office:

    • Create and maintain the business’ infrastructure and provide to the team the support they need to work in the better conditions

  • Procedures:

    • Ensure compliance with procedures and contribute to their updating

  • Logistics and procurement:

    • Procure equipment, facilities, spares, technical information, and trained personnel, essential to the proper operation of the office

 

Soft skills required:

  • Communication in French & English

    • Fluency in written, and oral expression adapted to work in African Private Equity

  • Project Management

    • Ability to work in a team or several project teams

  • Adaptability / Flexibility
